By default iPhone's either include only a basic and slow 5W charger or no charger at all from Apple's side. Therefore, it is a good idea to upgrade to a faster and better USB charger, as significantly faster charging times for small money can easily be achieved. Additionally, you can get USB chargers with multiple ports for your other USB based devices. There is also the possibility to Wireless Charge the new and larger iPhone 8 / 8+ / X / Xs / XR / 11 / 12 / 13 models.

Fast Wireless Charging - iPhone 8 / X / Xs / XR / 11 / 12 / 13

The bigger/neweer iPhone models, including the latest iPhone 13 have built-in wireless charging (Qi) support as standard. Basically you just put your iPhone and other Qi compatible devices on top of the wireless Qi charger, and then the power is transmitted wirelessly. The actual Wireless Qi Charger itself is connected to a regular USB charger, including the one that comes with the iPhone (albeit slow).

Wireless charging is potentially a bit slower than cabled charging, but by using a good and more powerful 10W Wireless Qi Charger along with a matching powerful USB charger you can still achieve twice as much charging power/speed (7.5W/10W) compared to Apple's standard charger (5W).

Fast Charge by cable - iPhone 6 / 7 / 8 / X / Xs / XR / 11 / 12 / 13 and others.

By using a good 5V/2A USB charger (+10W) you can achieve much faster charging speed when charging iPhone 6 and upwards, compared to standard Apple iPhone chargers (5W). However, there is a huge difference in quality and safety of USB chargers. Since USB chargers are not very expensive, you should always stick to the more specialized / recognized brands, including the ones offered by Chill, rather than investing in cheap "no-name" USB chargers. Cheap USB chargers from especially foreign/Asian platforms are often fake rated, poor safety and thus fairly dangerous to use.

Fastest USB-PD (USB Power Delivery) Charging - iPhone 8 / X / Xs / XR / 11 / 12 / 13

The latest and fastest charging protocol standard today is called USB Power Delivery (USB PD), and is primarily used together with the new USB-C (USB Type-C) connectors. However, just because a USB charger and/or Smartphone, Laptop etc. have a USB-C port, does not mean it also supports the USB Power Delivery protocol (USB PD).

The idea with the new USB Power Delivery (USB PD) standard coupled with the USB-C port, is to get ONE unified standard across platforms - ie one plug used both in Smartphones, laptops and all other equipment etc. up to 100W. A USB-PD charger can therefore also be used with different type of equipment, provided it has enough power (Watt) for the connected devices. Typically, Smartphones and other smaller devices pull up to ~10-20W, while Laptops typically will require more powerful +45-80W chargers.

iPhone 8 / 8+ / X / Xs / XR / 11 / 12 / 13 also supports this new USB Power Delivery (USB PD) protocol. So by purchasing a USB charger with USB PD Fast Charge support and a suited cable, you get the fastest possible charge of iPhone / iPad available today.
